Which is a relief because when they do come, they're quite lame. Dhawan the director seems to be inspired by Rohit Shetty's tendency to make cars fly, but he keeps the jokes sparse. Director Rohit Dhawan makes sure he keeps blowing up random things at regular intervals, keeps staging uninspired chase sequences every now and then to create an illusion of urgency but Dishoom is a frustratingly pointless film. John Abraham and Varun Dhawan play Kabir and Junaid, an Indian and a Pakistani official respectively whose task is to crack the case of Indian cricket team's top batsman Viraj's (ahem) kidnapping, just a day before an India vs Pakistan final match. So while it never actually lags, it also has little else to offer. This is a fairly fast-paced action-comedy-thriller, with something constantly happening. If you're just looking to waste away a couple of hours watching stuff randomly blowing up, then watching Dishoom just might fulfil that need of yours.
